Right guys
Sorry i haven't been posting for AGES (understatement)
Blame facebook, its addictive...and more convenient than blogging to update my status...
But i'll try to fix this...scheduling i should say
So...
What's be going on?
Well...i've not been updating for SIX FREAKIN' MONTHS
So....weeellll
I got into Singapore Poly
And well...
My course has been pretty fun
I've been:
1. sabo-ed
2. Voted
3. Chosen by my teacher to be voted as class Rep (similar to class chairman in secondary school)
Man, its such an honour.
And oh oh!!!
My whole class are L4D2 junkies, isn't that nice?
So (with reference to the title of this post), i guess you'll know what's up.
Its really addictive...in a good way
but i've fallen into game addiction trap before...so i won't again, I'll try
AND OH
There's this new game called Alan Wake on the Xbox360 (by the time this post is up... this would've been old news...see how long i've been away from the blogging world?)
We've had the honour of one of the people from the games to come and give us a talk on the game
AND HE FREAKIN' PLAYED THE GAME IN THE AUDITORIUM IN THE HUGE SCREEN
ITS LIKE WATCHING SOMEONE PLAY AN XBOX GAME IN THE CINEMA...OMG
I ALMOST FAINTED WITH PURE "DELIRIOUS-NESS"
Ohoh
And i also went trying out my guitars
I went compiling a list of guitars that i think i'll be getting
It was... i think 1 or 2 weeks before school started
I went testing guitars to see which one i would eventually buy
Went to test some high end guitars so that i could benchmark
For those benchmarks (not necessary good guitars)
I tested a:
Squire Telecaster
Fender Telecaster
(a few) Epiphone Les Paul Customs
Squire, and Fender (Squire is the lower end guitar)
Could totally tell the difference
The Squire's intonation's off at the higher frets... as in...the REALLY high frets
so i guess that's fine
But in overall sound...Fender owns (quite obviously...there's like, a 1 thousand buck difference in price)
Then for the guitars that i was gearing to get;
i tested:
1. Epiphone DOT
2. Hamer Echotone
3. Wanted to test this guitar...but it wasn't in stock (Craftsman TL40)
I went there with high expectations for both the DOT and Echotone
The $800+ DOT was tested through a $200 Fender Amp...
The $500+ (after discount) Echotone was tested through a $150+ Line6 Amp
The Echotone didn't disappoint
The DOT did
I really apologise for the Epiphone fans out there...but this was really my opinion
The reviews on both guitars i read were accurate.
The DOT does have an INSANE amount of decay and sustain (which is good) ...BUT...it lacks in tone, and the sound... was so-so
The Echotone didn't have the Sustain that the DOT was so famous for...but it did have the regular sustain time...and its sound was WAAAYYY BETTER....
As in, there was an OBVIOUS difference...even though the guitars both look exactly the same
So now, i'm saving up for that electric guitar and amp
Now for the effects rack
I'm thinking, (although i like Analog pedals) to save money...i should get an MFX
But enough on this topic
OH HEY
Speaking of guitars
I've been teaching Alyssa guitar for the holidays to earn pocket money
She's an awesome student
And her mum's real funny
She's those kind of "IN" mums...who know what internet and facebook and stuff...and also being able to be "Mums"
And Alyssa's pretty fast about learning the guitar
She's a good student
Said i was a good teacher too
That i had the patience
And i explained really well...but just sometimes moved too fast
That i'm not doing it cause i need the money (for guitar fund) but because i love to play the guitar and teach
*SWOONS*
Anyway
Sam has migrated
And we're all missing her
I still keep in touch with her though
Canada's an awful place... or so she says
What else to post?
Oh oh, classmates are awesome!!!
XD
I tried to get the class together by organising a class lunch
But didn't work out
except, maybe for my table
damn, all the outgoing girls are in my table
LOL
And for the 1st 3-4 weeks...we've been having new classmates the whole way
interesting...a new classmate every week.
And also
During the Pre-orientation briefing
The guys and i sorta formed a Class band
ROFL
Really cool
But we've yet to go jamming
No time, and we're really busy
What else...
OH OH
I've joined the SP Primers (BB for tertiary education)
ITs really cool
And because i was one of the ... 5-10 who turned up for their 1st event...
I'm sorta real friendly with them already
XD
So long, CIAO
CLT Jackie (That's right, CLT NOW)
LTA Spartan T93 (Halo3)
Doraemon (Class nickname)
